How to Reset a Sitejet Website to Its Initial State (cPanel)

Overview

This guide explains how to reset a Sitejet website via cPanel by deleting project files and document‑root content. After completion, the Sitejet builder opens as if it’s your first time, letting you create a new site from scratch.

Before You Begin

  • Backup your files: Download or compress your current website files if you may want to restore them later.

Steps to Reset

  1. Log in to cPanel and open File Manager.
  2. In File Manager settings, enable Show Hidden Files (dotfiles).
  3. Navigate to /home/[your_user]/.cpanel/sitejet.
  4. Inside, locate and delete the folder or files that reference the domain you wish to reset. These store the Sitejet builder’s project data.
  5. Now navigate to your domain’s document root (public_html or a subdomain folder).
  6. Select all files and folders within that root and delete them. This removes the existing website.
  7. When you next access Sitejet Builder via cPanel, you will see the initial site creation dialog and can select a template or upload new content.

After Reset

  • The builder will behave as for a new domain: you can select a new template, start with a blank canvas, or use the AI website generator.
  • Publishing will write fresh files to the document root. You can also add a robots.txt file after publishing if it was part of the previous site.

Additional Notes

  • Sitejet does not delete any custom files outside of its managed content, but placing non‑Sitejet content in the document root may cause issues when publishing.
  • There is no built‑in “reset” button in Sitejet Builder or cPanel. This method is based on deleting hidden builder files and the published site content manually.
